Nevan Swanson (b. 1996) is a photographer, filmmaker, and art educator based in Portland, Maine. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Bowdoin College, and studied narrative filmmaking at FAMU International Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague.

As a 2018 Thomas J. Watson Fellow, he embarked on a self-designed project, wherein he explored the relationship between documentation and experience. He thinks of his photographic process as an extension of paying attention. Through his work, he considers what documents hold in themselves and confronts notions of memory and loss, keeping and sharing.
